Honoring our dad and friend, Dr. Dan McLean

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dad, Dr. Dan McLean. He passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024, surrounded by love and support, after experiencing an accident where he fell that resulted in a hemorrhagic stroke.

During his time in hospice care at Orange Park Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida, we were reminded of just how much he meant to so many people. Managing his phone and accounts brought countless messages and memories, a testament to the impact he had on everyone around him. While there wasn’t an opportunity for visits before his passing, we are deeply grateful for the love and support we’ve received from people from all over.

The stories and memories shared with us have brought both smiles to our faces and tears to our eyes. Thank you for honoring his memory in such heartfelt ways.

We invite you to join us for a Celebration of Life to remember and honor the incredible person he was and the profound impact he had on so many.

This will be a time to gather, share stories, and celebrate his love for his family, friends, and his relationship with Jesus. We’ll honor some of his favorite things—Chick-fil-A nuggets, sweet tea, and, of course, the North Carolina Tar Heels. Dress is casual, and we encourage you to wear North Carolina Tar Heel blue in honor of one of his greatest loves.

Along with family remarks, we would like to offer guests the opportunity to share a story or memory during the event. If this is something you’d like to take part in, consider preparing a few words ahead of the celebration.

Please RSVP so we can plan accordingly, and feel free to share this website with friends or family who may not be on social media.

Through tears and laughter, we look forward to celebrating the life of a man who meant so much to so many.

With love,
Joshua, Johnpaul, and Joanna
